Here is a list of Game Terminology, shortcuts and mechanics that is used by players in the game:

  • Attack Damage (AD) - the amount of damage you will do with each basic attack
  • Ability Power (AP) - the damage that is added to your Champions abilities
  • Attack Speed (AS) - how fast your Champion will attack with basic attacks, per second
  • Movement Speed (MS) - how fast your Champion moves
  • Armor - the amount of armor your Champion has, more armor means you take less damage from your enemies basic attacks
  • Magic Resistance (MR) - the amount of MR your Champion has, more the MR you have the less damage you take from enemy Champions' Abilities.
  • Health (HP) - the life points of your Champion. If it drops to zero, you die
  • Mana (MP) - resource used by most champions and is spent when you use Champion Abilities. If you have no Mana, so cannot use your Abilities
  • Energy - resource used by some champions. Energy works just like Mana, except it the champion has a lower amount (200), but it regenerates much faster.
  • Fury - resource used by some champions. The more Fury this champion has, the more powerful their abilities are. Champions that use Fury do not need to spend it on abilities, but they can spend it to give the ability a larger or extra effect
  • Health Regeneration (HP5, Health Regen) - the amount of Health that your champion regenerates every 5 seconds
  • Mana Regeneration (MP5, Mana Regen) - the amount of Mana that your champion regenerates every 5 seconds
  • Lifesteal - a percentage of the damage you deal with your basic attacks is given to you as Health. The more Lifesteal you have, the more Health you regenerate by dealing  physical damage
  • Spell Vamp - a percentage of the damage you deal with Abilities is given to you as Health. The more Lifesteal you have, the more Health you regenerate by dealing spell damage
  • Critical Chance (Crit) - the chance your champion has of dealing a Critical Strike with a basic attack that deals twice as much damage as a regular hit would

Shortcuts used by players in chat:

  • ss - short for Missing. This means an enemy Champion has left their lane, and other players on your team should be careful
  • gank - being taken by surprise by your enemies coming from beyond your Field of View, often in an unfair scenario, such as 1vs2 or 1vs3.
  • glhf - Good Luck Have Fun
  • gg - Good Game. Written at the end to congratulate the enemy and your teammates
  • bg - Bad Game. Written when the game was not fun because it was unfair or just generally bad
  • KS - Kill Steal, or Kill Secured. Written when someone finishes off a champion that you almost killed, which is something looked down upon by others
  • CS - Creep Score. How many minions you killed
  • b - back. Either retreat from the fight, or go back to base to regenerate Health and Mana
